MUSTAFA KEMAL UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE

MUSTAFA KEMAL ÜNİVERSİTESİ MİMARLIK FAKÜLTESİ

Antakya Mustafa Kemal University - Faculty of Architecture has been established as an eye-catching campus that focuses on harmony with nature and sustainability principles in its architectural design. The four main buildings, which are shaped around the open courtyard where large and mature trees are preserved, contain various functions such as project studios, classrooms-lecture halls, administrative units and auditorium. While these structures offer students the opportunity to interact with nature and their environment, they also draw attention to the use of sustainable materials.

Sustainability and Harmony with Nature
The campus aims to increase environmental compliance and energy efficiency by adopting the principle of sustainability. The preference of natural and renewable materials such as wood minimizes the environmental footprint of the buildings and preserves the natural appearance. In addition, energy consumption is minimized by taking precautions such as natural ventilation systems and sunshades for hot climatic conditions. In this way, the campus takes an environmentally sensitive approach and saves energy in the long run.

Barrier-Free Design and User-Oriented Approach
By adopting the principles of barrier-free design, the campus aims to create an environment where individuals could comfortably move around and interact.
In the design of the buildings, elements such as ramps, elevators and wide passageways were taken into account to facilitate the access of disabled individuals. In this way, the campus offers an environment where everyone can benefit on equal terms.

Learning and Interaction Opportunities
The campus aims to offer students the opportunity to interact and learn not only in the classroom but also outdoors, offering a sustainable architectural perspective that is in harmony with nature. The open courtyard and green spaces offer ideal spaces for students to relax and interact socially, while classrooms and project studios support the learning process. Antakya Mustafa Kemal University- Faculty of Architecture offers students a modern and user-friendly learning environment as a camera that stands out with its sustainable architectural design in harmony with nature. Structures designed by considering elements such as barrier-free design principles and energy efficiency serve as an inspiring model for the next generation of architects.
