Project Purpose
This project aims to reorganize the socio-cultural facility areas in the center of Antakya in accordance with today’s needs after the damage and destruction experienced after the disaster. On the basis of this design, it is aimed to create an aesthetic and functional structure that interacts with its surroundings, taking into account the rich cultural texture and lively lifestyle of Antakya. In this way, while preserving the cultural heritage of Antakya, it is also planned to provide an environment suitable for modern requirements.

Project Area
The project area is located between two intersecting streets. It includes various functions such as a cultural center, multi-purpose halls, library, public education center, sports center and commercial areas that the city needs. These elements have been considered by considering the relations and functional integrity within the city.

Environmental Interaction and Pedestrian Mobility
Our project aims to create an urban connection inspired by the traction power of Cumhuriyet and Adnan Menderes avenues. In this context, pedestrian circulations complementing the architectural structures have been designed, considering that pedestrian mov ment will be strong within the project area.

Architectural Concept and Silhouette
The project uses the energy coming from the city center of Antakya to create a framework that surrounds it. This frame not only shapes street textures and squares, but also combines inward-facing courtyards with inviting passages, offering a comprehensive architectural setup. These arrangements focus not only on the exterior of the building, but also on street silhouettes and overall harmony. In particular, urban connections with important buildings such as the Historical Antakya High School were also taken into account. Thus, the project not only offers a modern architectural understanding, but also contributes to the urban texture and identity of the city by preserving the historical and cultural texture of Antakya. This architectural approach aims to promote a sustainable urban development by bringing together the past and future of Antakya.
